BPM Success Factors

By practicalbpm

My goal (the progress to which I’ll be detailing in this blog) is to identify the factors that most impact the likelihood of  success for a BPM initiative . The second part of my goal is to then develop BPM services that can be used to increase the impact of the positive factors and decrease the negative factors.  At this time I feel that the top two positive BPM success factors are: 1) using a robust and proven BPM methodology when implementing a BPM initiative, and 2) the establishment and utilizing of a BPM Center of Excellence (CoE) resource within the organization.   Sandy Kemsley, blogging from the Gartner BPM Conference, explains Motorola’s BPM experience as a validation of the need for a focused methodology.  And the most recent BPM Market Survey by BPTrends report is evidence that a CoE significantly increases the ROI from a BPM initiative.
